The Jones Experience

It was just one of those nights. One of those nights, of which, even if you tried, could not suck the liveliness and blanket of arresting tension that wrapped the atmosphere. The atmosphere, itself, was being pierced by this high frequency of frenzied nervousness. Thankfully, there were plenty of distractions and aids to help keep us in a relative state of calm and noticeably diverted from this soon-to be historic evening. The Nas session was a meta-physical event. The body was always twitching, uncontrollably at times, understandably so, but still inexplicably. If this was not evidence of a preternatural force at work, I don't know what is. The last statement was put in there for purposes of trying to describe the evening. If it sounds a bit too much biblical, I apologize, but WOW did Nas really bring it. Everything from the cavernous setting to the eerily scarlet splendor contributed to this very memorable evening.
As my duty, you know I was inclined, to document this event, be it in fragments or in stealth. I did this for all of you who could not be there. This is what the adventure is all about, providing for those who cannot be apart physically, but vicariously. In a cinematic progression (and in the interest of climax and entertainment), I will start with some photos...
I actually took this when I was leaving, but regardless, here is where our evening starts...
A courtesy tracklisting of the album, thus far at least (far from official, though), pray tell
I actually had lost my copy and had to take one conveniently lying on the couch. I was in there working, evidently.
Now on to the footage. I am only providing a very brief, danger-free clip, for now, at least
Check back tomorrow where I talk about the Jay/Nas collabo...
